#MeToo Roundup: Union minister MJ Akbar resigns, Anu Malik gets accused of sexual harassment and more

New Delhi: Another one bites the dust in the #MeToo storm. Union minister MJ Akbar tended his resignations after being accused of sexual harassment by almost 20 women. He sued journalist Priya Ramani for defamation causing the other women to come forth and volunteer to testify against him.
Artist Jatin Das was recently accused by environmentalist Nisha Bora of 'groping and forcibly kissing' her. The artist's daughter, filmmaker Nandita Das took to Facebook to say that despite the "disturbing" allegations against her father, she would continue to support the #MeToo movement.
Similarly, Mallika Dua responded to allegations levelled against her father Vinod Dua by filmmaker Nishtha Jain. While pledging her support to the movement, she also clarified that “This is not my battle to fight. It’s not my responsibility or my shame or my burden. I will deal with this my way and on my time."
Model and ex-Bigg Boss contestant Diandra Soares has become the latest superwoman to call out socialite Suhel Seth as she shared her #MeToo story. She accused Seth of forcibly kissing her to which she reacted by biting his tongue really hard in anger.
Singer Shweta Pandita has accused Anu Malik of harassing her when she was all of 15 years old. Terming Anu Malik a “paedophile” and “sexual predator”, Shweta has detailed the alleged incident that took place in 2001.
