Filmmaker Karan Johar's upcoming movie, Kalank, starring Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt, continues to entertain netizens by inspiring memes.
New Delhi: When the teaser for the much-awaited movie, Kalank, dropped, the Internet went into a tizzy. From drawing parallels between a Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Devdas to speculation about Madhuri Dixit's character, the teaser was the hottest point of discussion. Naturally, the Internet responded with stellar memes and now, with the release of the trailer, history is repeating itself.
The movie marks an extremely emotional project for johar since it was the last film worked on by his father, Dharma Productions helmer, late Yash Johar. The filmmaker-producer took to Instagram to share a heartfelt note calling it a 'film that was born in my heart and mind 15 years ago.'

The trailer for the movie released yesterday and is an opulent feast to the eyes as well as ears with very quotable dialogues.
Set in the 1940s, the film was originally supposed to star Madhuri Dixit and Sanjay Dutt but the film was shelved after pre-production. However, the new edition features actors Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt in lead roles. The movie also stars Madhuri Dixit, Sanjay Dutt, Aditya Roy Kapur among others and is directed by Abhishek Varman who has earlier helmed 2 States.
