The 15th edition of the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne (IFFM) is back with new film and show nominations. It was first established in 2010 as an annual event to provide an international platform to Indian cinema. As the largest Indian film festival outside India, IFFM nominations annually showcase the diversity and richness of content from all corners of India.

The Indian Film Festival of Melbourne (IFFM), supported and hosted by the Victorian Government in Australia, is an annual tribute to Indian cinema. It highlights the finest films, digital series, and talents from India. The festival is scheduled to begin on August 15th and conclude on August 25th. 

Indian films competing for Best Film category include:

•    12th Fail (Hindi)
•    Amar Singh Chamkila (Hindi)
•    Chandu Champion (Hindi)
•    Dunki (Hindi)
•    Jawan (Hindi)
•    Maharaja (Tamil)
•    Premalu (Malayalam)
•    Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani (Hindi)

Best Actor Category

This year, the festival will feature Shah Rukh Khan competing with top talents across languages in the Best Actor category. His competitors in the Best Actor category include Vikrant Massey, Fahadh Faasil, Ranveer Singh, Kartik Aaryan, Mithun Chakraborty, among others. 

The film 'Laapataa Ladies' has received a nomination in Best Film (Critics Choice) category.

Best Actress Category

Alia Bhatt is competing for Best Actress category alongside accomplished actors like Jyothika and Parvathy Thiruvothu, and young talents from "Laapataa Ladies," Nitanshi Goel and Pratibha Ranta. In the OTT category, shows such as Heeramandi, Poacher, and Made In Heaven Season 2, among others, and their talented casts will also compete for recognition.

The winners of the IFFM 2024 Awards will be announced during the festival on August 16th. It will be hosted at the Palais Theatre in Melbourne.
