Esha Deol, born into a family of Bollywood icons like Dharmendra, Hema Malini, and Sunny Deol, faced struggles in her acting career after several movie failures, ultimately leading her to step back from the industry. In a recent interview with Bollywood Hungama, she revealed the challenges she faced in convincing her parents, particularly her father, to allow her to pursue acting.

Recalling her journey into films, Esha shared that while she faced some resistance, producer Boney Kapoor played a significant role in kickstarting her career by offering her roles in movies like "Koi Mere Dil Se Poochhe" and "Na Tum Jaano Na Hum," both of which she shot for simultaneously.

She admitted that convincing her father, Dharmendra, was tougher due to his protective nature, especially towards his daughters. Esha acknowledged that her father's concerns stemmed from a desire to shield his family from the industry's scrutiny and protect their privacy.

In a previous interview with Indian Express, Esha elaborated on her father's protective nature, describing him as possessive and traditional. She explained that Dharmendra believed in safeguarding his daughters from the outside world, influenced by his understanding of the industry's workings and his orthodox beliefs.

Despite the challenges, Esha persevered and found her way in the industry. She reflected on the journey, recognizing the unique hurdles faced by women in the film industry, while also acknowledging the support and opportunities she received.

Currently, Esha Deol's focus has shifted to projects like the web series "Hunter Tootega Nahi Todega" and the upcoming movie "Main," a horror thriller featuring Amit Sadh in a pivotal role. The release date for "Main" is yet to be announced, but Esha remains committed to her craft, eager to continue her journey in the world of entertainment.
