Mumbai: Well-known for his love for highend designer streetwear, filmmaker Karan Johar has become the latest celebrity to have unveiled his wax statue at Madame Tussauds Museum in Singapore. He was accompanied by his mother Hiroo Johar though his little ones Roohi and Yash did not join the celebrations this time.

Johar's wax statue has been designed in a signature style, where he is seen posing for a selfie. This is the first time an Indian filmmaker to have a wax statue at Madame Tussauds. Last week, his fellow designer street wear lover, singer Diljit Dosanjh also unveiled his wax statue at the museum, becoming the first turbaned celebrity with a wax statue at the museum.

And just like real-life Johar, the statue is also dressed in designer duds, wearing a butterfly-printed Gucci blazer. The statue almost manages to copy Johar's signature selfie-pout, but not quite. Take a look:

In an interview, with DNA, Johar expressed his excitement, “I remember visiting the Madam Tussauds museum with my father when I was all of eight years old. It feels like a childhood dream has been realised. Today, my statue will be a part of this prestigious museum and I am vastly excited and honoured! Just the fact that I can bring my babies one day to this museum and they can see their father standing tall amongst so many illustrious and luminous personalities is the most emotional feeling for me. Waxing eloquent is something I have attempted to do for many years now, but being waxed is an altogether different high.”

On the work front, the filmmaker is busy promoting Kalank featuring Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan, Sanjay Dutt, Madhuri Dixit, Sonakshi Sinha, Aditya Roy Kapoor and Kunal Khemu. Next, he will start with his mega-budget magnum opus Takht. It stars the ensemble cast of Ranveer Singh, Anil Kapoor, Vicky Kaushal, Alia Bhatt, Kareena Kapoor Khan, and Bhumi Pednekar. According to reports, Takht is based on the life of Aurangzeb where Kareena and Ranveer will play siblings.
