Television actress Dalljiet Kaur and her second husband, Nikhil Patel, are in the spotlight following a legal dispute. Dalljiet recently accused Nikhil of being "cruelty" and "cheating" in a FIR that she filed. The complaint, lodged at Mumbai’s Agripada police station on August 2, includes charges under sections 85 and 316 (2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).

Section 85 of the BNS deals with cruelty by a husband or his relatives and can result in up to three years of imprisonment and a fine. Section 316 (2) addresses criminal breach of trust, which can lead to a five-year prison term or a fine, or both.

Nikhil Patel, who now lives in Kenya, was recently seen at Mumbai airport with a rumored girlfriend, Safeena Nazar. Dalljiet has since returned to India with her son, Jaydon. This is not the first legal action Dalljiet has taken against Nikhil. Earlier, in June, she sought protection from the Nairobi City court to prevent eviction from their Kenyan home.

Nikhil had also issued a legal notice to Dalljiet, accusing her of harassment through social media posts that allegedly made false claims about his infidelity. According to him, their separation stemmed from Dalljiet's decision to move back to India, which highlighted difficulties in their blended family. He also noted that their Indian wedding ceremony in March 2023, though culturally significant, was not legally binding.

Both Dalljiet and Nikhil had previous marriages before their union. Dalljiet was previously married to actor Shalin Bhanot, with whom she shares her son Jaydon.
