The actor was also a part of the Bollywood delegation that included prominent film producers such as Karan Johar, Ritesh Sidhwani, Siddharth Roy Kapur, the president of the Film Producers Guild, Rakesh Roshan, Ronnie Screwvala and many others.
"The main agenda to discuss with PM was what the entertainment industry in India can contribute as a soft power of the nation around the world and how it would be wonderful if the government could encourage this industry in very tangible ways to be able to grow and thrive," filmmaker Siddharth Roy Kapur had said of this meeting.
Akshay had also supported Prime Minister's cleanliness initiative with the movie, Toilet- Ek Prem Katha, that carried the social message urging Indians to maintain hygiene by constructing toilets in their homes to avoid diseases.
Recently, Kumar along with actor Ayushmann Khurrana were urged by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to encourage people to cast their vote in the upcoming Lok Sabha Election 2019.
