Bollywood star Ayushmann Khurrana gives the transgender community chances for integration and self-reliance by launching the "Sweekar" food truck project in Chandigarh.
Recently, Ayushmann Khurrana was spotted in Chandigarh, where he opened a food truck in Zirakpur that is specifically for the transgender population. 'Sweekar' is the name given to the food trucks, a play on the significance of community acceptance in today's world.
The transgender community in Zirakpur, Chandigarh, received the keys to the Sweekar Food Trucks on Thursday from Ayushmann.
As Ayushmann turned over the keys to these unique food trucks on Thursday, he stressed how important it is for the transgender community to be included and empowered. He told ANI, This food truck was created for a very special purpose: to support and involve the trans community in society.
He emphasized the need for social awareness and assistance, drew attention to the suffering of India's marginalized and poor transgender population, and expressed optimism that such programs would help them become self-sufficient and financially independent.
A prominent trans activist from Chandigarh, Dhananjay Chauhan, the first transgender Panjab University student to advocate for LGBTQIA+ rights, praised Ayushmann for the project. "The degree to which each group feels secure, independent, and empowered is a key indicator of a nation's growth.
Ayushmann has consistently shown his unwavering support for the LGBTQIA+ community in India. He has achieved this through his own style of filmmaking as well as through the way he lives his life and presents himself on social media.
