The 105th year of the horrible Jallianwala Bagh Massacre is on April 13, 2024. The episode has frequently been portrayed in films, most notably Sardar Udham and Phillauri (2017).
Amritsar, a city known for its holy Golden Temple, is also a place where over 1000 nonviolent protestors were killed in one of its parks, the famous Jallianwala Bagh. Today, April 13, India commemorates the 105th anniversary of the Jallianwala Bagh massacre, which killed over 1000 persons, including innocent men, women, and children, after Brigadier General Reginald Dyer opened fire on them on April 13, 1919.
Some filmmakers have done their best to show our Indian audiences what happened at the atrocity location. Check out these five major Hindi-language films about the Jallianwala Bagh massacre.
