Daler Mehndi had joined the Congress in 2013 ahead of the Delhi Assembly elections to campaign against the BJP and AAP, which had made its electoral debut in December that year.
New Delhi: Singer-cum-songwriter Daler Mehndi on Friday joined BJP ahead of the 4th phase of the ongoing Lok Sabha elections. The Tunak Tunak Tun singer joined the saffron party in presence of BJP North West Delhi candidate Hans Raj Hans and Union Minister Vijay Goel.
Mehndi had joined the Congress in 2013 ahead of the Delhi Assembly elections to campaign against the BJP and AAP, which had made its electoral debut in December that year.
Hans Raj, another very popular Punjabi singer who joined the BJP recently, has been fielded from North-West Delhi Lok Sabha constituency. If he wins the election, he will be one of the BJP's leading Dalit faces. Hans comes from the Valmiki community.

Several celebrities, including Sunny Deol and Gautam Gambhir joined the BJP ahead of the general elections. While Gambhir is contesting from East Delhi, Deol is fielded from Gurdaspur constituency.
