Among the 184 candidates contesting in the Lok Sabha elections from Arunachal Pradesh, 131 are crorepatis. Arunachal Pradesh chief minister Pema Khandu emerged as the richest.
Guwahati: The Arunachal Pradesh assembly election will see 131 crorepati candidates in the electoral fray out of the total 184 candidates.
The crorepati candidates make up 71% of the total number of people contesting from 60 assembly constituencies.
Before voting, three BJP candidates have already declared an unopposed winner and voting will be held for the remaining 57 seats on April 11.

Among the crorepati candidates, Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu emerged as the richest with declared assets of Rs 163.50 crore.
Pema Khandu, son of former Arunachal Pradesh CM Late Dorjee Khandu, is contesting from Mukto assembly constituency in Tawang district.
Pema Khandu has declared his assets in an affidavit submitted with his nomination papers. He declared his movable assets worth Rs 143,87,82,786 and immovable assets worth Rs 19,62,75,356.
The Arunachal Pradesh CM’s assets have been increased by Rs 33.93 crore in the last five years. In 2014, he had declared the value of his assets as being Rs 129.57 crore.
On the other hand, Lombo Tayeng, Congress candidate for Mebo seat in East Siang district has become the second wealthiest candidate with assets worth Rs 148,54,05,994. In 2014, he had declared his assets were worth a total of Rs 17,12,74,566.
Pema Khandu’s brother Tsering Tashi, BJP candidate for Tawang assembly constituency, has declared his that his assets are worth Rs 109,43,93,772.
Former Chief Minister Nabam Tuki, who is contesting from Sagalee seat on a Congress ticket has declared his total assets as being worth Rs 100,19,39,533 and an increase of Rs 88,63,46,269 in his assets over the last five years.
Arunachal Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein, who is contesting from Chowkham seat in Namsai district has also declared his assets worth Rs 64,70,52,762.

Among the crorepati candidates, 54 are from BJP, 30 from Congress, 21 from NPP, 11 from JD (U) and 7 from JD (S).
Five Independent candidates have declared their assets as being worth more than Rs 1 crore.
On the other hand, one Congress candidate by the name of Dayum Para contesting from Tali constituency has declared zero assets and Rs 5,000 cash in hand.
It is to be mentioned that a total of 88 crorepati candidates were contesting in the Arunachal Pradesh assembly polls in 2014.
