When is Nag Panchami 2024?

According to the Panchang, the Panchami Tithi of Shukla Paksha in the Sawan month will begin at 12:37 AM on the night of August 8 (Thursday) and continue until 03:14 AM on August 10 (Saturday). However, since the sunrise of Panchami Tithi will occur on August 9 (Friday), Nag Panchami will be celebrated on this day. Three Shubh yogas, Siddha, Sadhya, and Amrit, will be observed, adding to the significance of the festival.

•    On August 9, Friday, wake up early, bathe, and resolve to fast and worship. 

•    During any of the auspicious times listed above, place a statue or picture of a pair of snakes and offer kumkum and rice.

•    Anoint the snake statue with milk, then bathe with pure water. Offer items such as Abir, Gulal, Roli, flowers, rice, and white clothes.

•    Offer kheer or another sweet made from cow's milk, along with coconut. Conclude with the Aarti. This form of worship not only pleases the snake deity but also Lord Shiva.
