New Delhi: The Special Cell of Delhi Police seized two Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) and arrested a suspected ISIS operative on Friday. According to reports, the police said the arrested accused was planning a major attack in the national capital.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Special Cell) Pramod Singh Kushwaha said that six rounds of fire were exchanged before the ISIS agent was caught. The accused is identified as Abdul Yusuf Khan. Police also seized a pistol from the accused.

Police added that for the last few months, they were tracking the accused's movements and learned that the accused would be coming to the Ridge area. Police trapped him after six rounds of firing.

Similarly, in Bengaluru, a 28-year-old doctor was arrested by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) for allegedly developing an app for ISIS. The NIA said the ophthalmologist and junior resident doctor at Bengaluru's MS Ramaiah Medical College confessed to the crime.

NIA added that Abdur Rahman said he was linked to the Islamic State of Syria and Iraq (ISIS) terror outfit. Rahman was developing a medical application for ISIS which can help ISIS operatives in conflict zones. He was also developing a weapon related app for the same.
