Bengaluru: Twitter India, under the hashtag #ThisHappened in 2019 in India has announced the most tweeted conversations in India in the year 2019. The micro-blogging website announced the most retweeted tweets in its annual report released on Tuesday (December 10).

In sports, India cricket captain Virat Kohli’s birthday wish for former skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni caught the attention of Twitter users in India. It became the most retweeted sports tweet in India in 2019.

“Happy birthday mahi bhai @msdhoni. Very few people understand the meaning of trust and respect and I'm glad to have had the friendship I have with you for so many years. You've been a big brother to all of us and as I said before, you will always be my captain,” Kohli had tweeted on July 7. This was retweeted more than 45.8 thousand times. Also, it fetched more than 412.7 thousand likes.
