BSNL is experiencing a resurgence in popularity due to rising telecom prices from competitors. With affordable plans and advances in 4G/5G services, BSNL is attracting more users.
State-run BSNL (Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited) is making a significant comeback in the Indian telecom market, thanks to a shift in customer preferences influenced by rising plan prices from major private telecom operators like Jio, Airtel, and Vodafone Idea (Vi). As these companies hike their prices, BSNL is capitalizing on the opportunity by offering cost-effective alternatives that are attracting a growing number of users.
Affordable Plans and Increased Customer Base
The surge in BSNL’s popularity is largely attributed to its affordable recharge plans. With private telecom giants pushing up their prices, many users are turning to BSNL for more budget-friendly options. In July 2024 alone, BSNL welcomed over 2.17 lakh new users, significantly boosting its customer base in Andhra Pradesh to over 40 lakh. This dramatic increase highlights the growing demand for economical telecom services amidst rising costs.
Advancements in Network Services
BSNL’s commitment to providing value extends beyond pricing. The company is actively enhancing its network capabilities, including the rollout of high-speed 4G and upcoming 5G services. With 4G networks already established at 15,000 sites nationwide, BSNL is preparing to launch its 4G services in Andhra Pradesh on August 15, 2024. Additionally, the telecom provider has recently reduced the price of its popular 3300GB data plan from Rs 499 to Rs 399. This price cut is aimed at heavy internet users, offering them substantial data at an attractive rate while ensuring a reliable and high-speed internet connection.
