Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri's directorial web series The Kashmir Files: Unreported received the Streaming Academy Award in the Best Documentary Series category. The award recognizes the documentary's powerful storytelling and its remarkable contribution to raising awareness about the Kashmir conflict, as it provides a never-before-seen insight into the dark period. 

The documentary has a unique episodic format, where each episode deals with a specific aspect of the Kashmir conflict. The series highlights the overlooked elements of the Kashmir genocide of Kashmiri Hindus according to the data gathered before the making of The Kashmir Files (2022) film. The series is great however, it is recommended to watch the film before diving into the series. 

Talking about The Kashmir Files: Unreported winning the streaming Academy Award for Best Documentary, Vivek Ranjan said, "I am deeply grateful for the jury's recognition of our honest portrayal of the Kashmir Genocide, including its challenging narratives. This award inspires us to continue fearlessly sharing stories that illuminate truth, challenge perceptions, and honor the resilience of our people.

He added, "I can guarantee you that if the Kashmir files disturbed you, the Delhi Files will destroy you.”

During the weekend, the Streaming Academy Awards celebration took place in Mumbai, where the honor was presented. The award had 48 categories, 24 in Hindi content and 24 for Regional languages. Zee5 is currently streaming the documentary series, which features snippets of never-before-seen Kashmir Files material.
