The director has previously worked with Mahesh Bhatt's eldest daughter, Pooja Bhatt in 'Dil Hai Ke Manta Nahin', however, the 55-year-old has never worked with Alia Bhatt.
Vikram Bhatt started his career along with Mahesh Bhatt. He assisted Mahesh Bhatt on films such as 'Junoon' and 'Hum Hain Rahi Pyar Ke'. Vikram made his debut as a director with the 1992 film 'Jaanam'. The director has previously worked with Mahesh Bhatt's eldest daughter, Pooja Bhatt in 'Dil Hai Ke Manta Nahin', however, the 55-year-old has never worked with Alia Bhatt.
In an interview with News18 Showsha, Vikram revealed he never asked Mahesh Bhatt to get Alia Bhatt to work on his projects. He said, "Her father and I share a relationship that is exclusive and doesn’t involve our families. I don’t think I make the kind of films that Alia Bhatt would be interested in. She has her own universe and choices, and I’ve never gone to Bhatt saab and asked him to get Alia for a particular role. Our relationship isn’t like that.”
During the conversation, he also opened up about casting Jhanvi Kapoor and his admiration for risk-taking actresses. He said, "There are girls I really admire for their grit and choice of roles, like Janhvi. I don’t care what people say about her films’ success or failure. She has chosen not to latch onto some star or become the second heroine to a third hero. She has refused to do that.”
"Her films center on her. She has had opportunities to prove her skills, and I admire that about her. Nepo kid or not, that doesn’t matter. Here’s someone who’s trying to do something different. I think that’s more sensible than just chasing success at the cost of being a nobody in a film, which only gives you the illusion of success when, in fact, you had nothing to do with it," he added.
