Actor Sonu Sood has been getting a lot of criticism from the internet after he openly defended a food vendor spitting in a customer's food and compared him to Lord Rama eating Shabri's berries.

Actor-turned-politician Kangana Ranaut also came out and slammed Sonu Sood for his views and comparing the act to Ramayana's tale.

Kangana Ranaut calls out Sonu Sood

Member of the Lok Sabha, Kangana Ranaut took to X (formerly Twitter) and wrote, “Next you know Sonu ji will direct his own Ramayana based on his own personal findings about God and religion. Wah kya baat hai Bollywood se ek aur Ramayana,”

Kangana reposted the post that said, "SHOCKING NEWS… Bollywood actor Sonu Sood justifies sp*itting in people’s food. He equates sp*itting on food by a miscreant with Lord Ram eating Shabri’s berries. He said ‘if Lord Ram could eat Shabri’s berries, why can’t he eat rotis that have been spat upon?’ He defended the act of spitting by describing it as an act of ‘Humanity’. He said ‘Humanity must remain intact.’"

How it started

This started with Sonu Sood reacting to the news of UP police and Haridwar authorities mandating owners put their names on the nameplates of the eateries at the Kanwar Yatra route.

Reacting to it, Sonu wrote, "There should be only one name plate on every shop: "HUMANITY"

Kangana reacted to it and wrote, "Agree, Halal should be replaced with "Humanity".

On the work front, Sonu Sood will be soon seen in his crime thriller 'Fateh' starring him alongside Jacquline Fernandez and Naseeruddin Shah. Kangana has also announced her new film named 'Emergency' which will be released on September 7.
