Farhan Akhtar is a man of multiple talents. He is known for his unwavering dedication and passion for his craft, and he continues to challenge himself to elevate his performances on screen. The actor transformed himself into a boxer for his 2021 streaming release, 'Toofaan'. Farhaan left no stone unturned to embody the character of a boxer and had to make an extreme mental and physical commitment. 

Directed by Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra, the film demanded extreme dedication from Farhan and he did not fail to deliver. Today marks the 3rd anniversary of the film. Let's revisit Farhan's immersive journey into the character. 

Farhan Akhtar played the role of Boxer Aziz Ali whose life is nothing less than inspirational. To get himself ready for the role, Farhan trained to be a boxer. The actor spent 2 hours practicing boxing,  as a part of his preparation for his character. He also spent 5-6 months mastering the fundamentals of boxing including the various skills and techniques.

In a behind-the-scenes video, mini-documentary of his sports drama film, Toofan, Farhan revealed, "We didn't train for a film, we trained to be a boxer." He added, "Roughly about five to six months were spent learning the ABCs, techniques, and physically preparing myself. We did train for a film. We train to be a boxer."

Toofaan also stars Paresh Rawal, Mrunal Thakur, and Hussain Dalal. Produced by Excel Entertainment is the story of an orphaned thug in Dongri who beats up shopkeepers and vendors for money. 

After he gets into a bloody fight, Farhan's character meets Ananya Prabhu (played by Mrunal Thakur). She is the doctor who treats him and later orders him out and criticizes him for being an extortionist. The film received positive reviews from viewers online. 

Currently, Farhan Akhtar is working on his unnamed upcoming project. Earlier in an interview, he revealed that he would begin the shoot in July 2024.
