Nawazuddin Siddiqui is known for his versatile acting and strong screen presence. Joining in on the current buzzing debate about big-budget films failing and the rising cost of production with actors' excessive demands, Nawaz expressed his views on the topic and said, "Yeh aaj se nahi, bohot pehle se hota aa raha hai.”

Talking about his experience with working on sets with big celebrities throwing tantrums, the Gangs of Wasseypur actor said, "There are many unnecessary demands that actors have, they want everything lavish. I have even heard that some actors have five vanity vans, one for gymming, one for cooking, one for eating, bathing, practicing lines, and whatnot. Yeh paagalpan hai. koi paagal hi hoga jo paanch vanity van leke chalta hai.”

The 50-year-old actor stood strong on his views and said, "Why would any actor want to increase the cost of the production? This is absolutely wrong. Put money in films instead, that would be a better thing to do. Jo inn nawaabon ko shaunk hain woh toh film mein nawaabon ke bhi nahi honge,”

The actor will soon be seen in the Zee5 film, Rautu ka Raaz. He also clarified his love for the craft and how he just enjoys working on the set instead of counting luxuries. He said, “I just wish that I should work well and nothing else. Meri toh aisi koi demands nahi hoti. Production ke time se pehle main khada hota hoon shoot ke liye.”

Lauding the independent filmmakers and actors, Nawaz said, “They make content on their own terms, bring stories where they come from and I feel really good about that. It gives me hope that this kind of cinema will grow. Main challenge ke saath kehta hoon, hamesha choti aur deep filmen hi desh ki pehchaan hain jo world mein popular hoti hain. Cinema should be for independent filmmakers who thrive on content, and not be concerned about only making it look lavish.”
