Indian actress Rani Mukerji and Filmmaker Karan Johar recently presented a keynote lecture ahead at the Australian Parliament. The event took place ahead of the  Indian Film Festival of Melbourne. The Prime Minister of Australia, Anthony Albanese met Rani and Karan and shared a lovely photo with the celebs on Instagram. 

The caption read, "Rani Mukerji and @karanjohar are in Canberra promoting the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne. It’s one of the largest Indian film festivals outside of India, and it’s been running for 15 years. Rani and Karan delivered the keynotes on August 13 and the International Film Festival of Melbourne (IFFM) will take place on August 15. Speaking about the honor, Rani said, “I’m proud to represent the Indian film fraternity at the Australian Parliament House and speak about the rich history of cinema that we have offered to the world at large. This is a milestone moment for our fraternity, and it would be an honor for me to speak about the growing cultural ties between Australia and India through cinema.”

On the occasion, Karan said, “I am thrilled to be a part of this historic event and to celebrate the incredible journey of Indian cinema. It’s incredible to see how far the stories we as an industry create travel, and this moment is a testament to the growing influence of the cultural impact of Indian cinema.”

Additionally, the event also introduces the Yash Chopra stamp. Yash Chopra stamp recognizes the efforts of the brand to help Hindi cinema grow and expand all over the world. Yash Chopra was also the first sponsor of the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne. It is one of the biggest celebrations of Indian cinema and will take place in Melbourne from August 15 to 25.
