Kader Khan was an Indian actor, writer, and director. He was born on 22 October 1937 in Kabul, Afghanistan. He died on 31 December 2018 in Toronto, Canada. He graduated from Ismail Yusuf College, Mumbai. 

His father’s name was Abdul Rehman Khan, and his mother’s name was Iqbal Begum. 

He was married to Azra Khan. The names of their children are Sarfaraz Khan, Shahnawaz Khan, and Quddus Khan.

Interesting facts about Kader Khan

Before pursuing a career in the entertainment industry, Kader Khan worked as an engineering teacher at MH Sabu Siddique Engineering College in Mumbai. 

During a college function, actor Dilip Kumar was invited as a chief guest. Kader Khan gave a stage performance, and Dilip Kumar was so impressed by the performance that he offered him a role in the Hindi film ‘Bairaag Aur Sagina.’

However, Kader Khan made his acting debut with the Bollywood film ‘Daag: A Poem of Love’ in the year 1973. 

Kader Khan was also a screenwriter. He wrote popular dialogues for actor Amitabh Bachchan in films like Naseeb, Agneepath, Mukaddar Ka Sikandar, Shri Natwarlal, Amar Akbar Anthony, and Lawaaris. 

In the year 1981, Kader Khan made his directorial debut with the film ‘Shama.’

He also worked in a few television shows like Mr Dhansukh, Hasna Mat, and Haye! Padosi Kon Hai Doshi.

In the year 2013, Kader Khan was honoured with the Sahitya Shiromani Award for his significant contribution to the Indian Cinema. 

Kader Khan was also awarded by the American Federation of Muslims from India (AFMI).

Kader Khan was revered in the Indian cinema for being one of the best comic actors. 

He worked in more than 300 films in his entire career as an actor and writer. 

Kader Khan moved to Toronto, Canada, after developing some serious health issues. 

He passed away in the year 2021 at his residence in Canada.
