Christmas celebrations turned tragic for a Tennessee family and their guests — three Indian teenaged siblings — after a massive fire broke out in the house and claimed four lives.

The deceased were identified as 16-year-old Sathwika Naik, 15-year-old Suhan Naik, 14-year-old Jaya Naik and 46-year-old Kari Coudriet. Her husband Daniel Coudriet and their son Cole survived but were admitted to the hospital form smoke inhalation.

According to USA Today, the Naik siblings stayed back to finish their studies at Mississippi’s French Camp Academy after their father Srinivas Naik, who is a pastor with Collierville Bible Church (CBC) returned to Nalgonda in Telangana in 2017 after working in the US.

The Coudriets invited the teens to stay in their house for the winter holidays.

The CBC in a Facebook post said that the fire broke out at around 11 PM on Sunday (10.30 am on Monday according to IST) and all the victims were in the house at that time.

Local media reported that it is still uncertain how the house caught fire and investigation are going on.

Meanwhile, Telangana Congress chief N Uttam Kumar Reddy has asked the state government to make arrangements to bring back the bodies of the teenagers to India.
