After meeting with Kulbushan Jadhav at a sub-jail for nearly an hour, the MEA, in its report, stated that Jadhav was under 'extreme pressure' to parrot a false narrative
New Delhi: India, on Monday (September 2) stated, after the meeting between Kulbhushan Jadhav and Indian envoy Gaurav Ahluwalia, that Kulbhushan Jadhav appeared to be under "extreme pressure" to render a false Pakistani narrative in his case.
The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) said that while a comprehensive report on the meeting with Kulbhushan Jadhav is awaited, it was "clear that he appeared to be under extreme pressure to parrot a false narrative to bolster Pakistan's untenable claims".

In a statement, MEA official spokesperson, Raveesh Kumar said, "We will decide a further course of action after receiving a detailed report from our Cd'A and determining the extent of conformity to the ICJ directives."
Earlier, on Monday, India accepted the consular access extended by Pakistan to Kulbhushan Jadhav and Indian envoy Gaurav Ahluwalia met Jadhav at a sub-jail for an hour as tensions over Kashmir seem to have simmered between the two countries.
The consular access to Jadhav came amid the spiralling tensions between India and Pakistan while India withdrew its special status from Jammu and Kashmir and bifurcated it into two union territories.
Pakistan has been trying to raise the issue at various international fora, but India has maintained that it is an internal matter.
Pakistan claims its security forces arrested Jadhav from the restive Balochistan province on March 3, 2016, after he reportedly entered from Iran.
