New Delhi: Recently designated a global terrorist by the United Nations Security Council (UNSC), Masood Azhar is now changing location every 48 hours to avoid any further action against him.
According to the intelligence agencies, after the UNSC's decision, Azhar, who was under the Pakistan Army's security in Abbottabad, changed the location and resided some time in Athmuqam which has multiple terror launch pads. The area is hardly a few kilometres from the Line of Control (LoC).
The local administration of Pakistan had also changed his location 6 days ago from Abbottabad to Jura town of Pakistan occupied Kashmir which is close to Islamabad. The purpose was to provide any help as Pakistan awaited a decision by UNSC.
Now Indian agencies have been given the task to trace and update the location of terrorist Masood Azhar. Sources have confirmed that he was also planning to visit the Indo-Pakistan border regarding an important task, but his trip was cancelled after he was designated a global terrorist.
He was supposed to visit three launch pads situated in PoK, in the second week of May.
His location information is now only restricted to top officials of Pakistan's spy agency ISI and officers of the Pakistan Army. Azhar has also been asked not to move with extra forces, sources have claimed.
India has successfully managed to get Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) chief Maulana Masood Azhar designated as a global terrorist. It was a significant victory for the Indian government as China finally stepped back, paving the way for the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) to blacklist Azhar on Wednesday.

The blacklisting of Azhar comes 20 years after he was released when Pakistan-based terrorists hijacked Indian Airlines Flight 814 and took it to Taliban-controlled Kandahar. The motive of the hijack was not only to secure the release of Azhar but other terrorists as well.
All the released terrorists found safe houses in Pakistan and in years to follow masterminded many terror attacks in India. Azhar's JeM is responsible for the Parliament attack (2001), Pathankot attack (2016) and Pulwama attack (2019).
