Howdy Modi: PM Modi holds meeting with Maldives President Solih in New York, to meet Trump at noon

In a press conference, External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Raveesh Kumar said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi would meet the US President Donald Trump at 12:15 pm on September 24.

New York: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday (September 23) met Maldives President, Ibrahim Mohamed Solih, on the sidelines of the 74th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in New York.

The Prime Minister held a series of bilateral meetings, including with German Chancellor Angela Merkel, Italian President Giuseppe Conte and Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad.

He also met Colombian President Ivan Duque Marquez, President of Niger Issoufou Mahamadou, Bhutan's Prime Minister Lotay Tshering, Prime Minister of the Netherlands, Mark Rutte and the Emir of Qatar, Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani.

Also, External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Raveesh Kumar, during a press briefing in New York, said, "PM Modi will meet President Trump at 12:15 pm (local time) tomorrow (September 24)."

The meeting comes a day after the US President had shared the same dais with the Indian Prime Minister to address nearly 50,000 Indian-Americans and Hindu-Americans 'Howdy, Mody!' event in Houston.

Modi has held a string of engagements since his arrival in the United States, including Howdy Modi. He also addressed the UN Climate Action Summit in New York, amongst other events.
