Quetta: Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan promised to give Balochistan more than its due share in the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project. He said that the projects are being reviewed to safeguard the rights of people in all provinces.
Khan on Saturday said, “Progress of the country is linked with the development of Balochistan. The federal government will extend all possible cooperation to Balochistan to overcome its financial crisis and eliminate poverty. Balochistan would be paid more than its due share in the CPEC projects”.
During his first visit to Quetta after taking oath as Prime Minister on August 18, Khan was chairing a Balochistan cabinet meeting. “A comprehensive strategy would be worked out for an early progress of Balochistan in light of proposals to be submitted by the provincial government,” he said.
Khan also urged the Balochistan Assembly lawmakers to resolve the problems of the people by effective legislation. He stressed on taking measures to resolve the problem of water scarcity in Quetta.
Balochistan CM Jam Kamal welcomed Khan and expressed his gratitude on the Prime Minister taking interest in matters of Balochistan.
Earlier, Khan said that the true potential of Balochistan would be realised through a comprehensive national effort, cooperation between federal and provincial governments and assistance of the armed forces.
