Dhaka: A television journalist in Bangladesh was hacked to death with a sharp-edged object at her residence on Wednesday.
Subarna Nodi, 32, was a correspondent of Ananda TV and also worked for Daily Jagroto Bangla newspaper. She was at her home on Tuesday night, when a group of 10-12 men in motorcycles rang her doorbell.
According to Ibne Mizan, Pabna Additional Superintendent of Police said, “Some unidentified men rang the doorbell. They fled after hacking her indiscriminately when she opened the door”.
Nodi is survived by a nine-year-old daughter.
Nodi and her husband were separated were fighting a legal battle over divorce.
Journalists in Pabna have condemned the murder of Nodi and have demanded that the assailants be immediately brought to justice.
Additional SP Gautam Kumar Biswas said that the police have launched several teams to catch the culprits.
