New Delhi: Pakistan continues to commit atrocities against the freedom-loving minorities in the country, especially the Pashtuns. Recently, another activist of the Pashtun Tahafuz Movement (PTM) Yasir Hamid has gone missing under mysterious circumstances.

While this is not the first PTM activist who has disappeared into thin air, the intelligentsia associated with the movement has been a long time target of the Pakistani deep state.

"Despite the @Europarl_EN warning to Pakistan to shun targeting minorities, the country's notorious security agencies today forcefully disappeared PTM activist, Yasir Hamid from district Bannu of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa," Wazir tweeted too.

This comes after a strong criticism of Pakistan by the European Parliament which threatened the country with the suspension of all subsidies and trade preferences lest the persecution of religious minorities stopped in a Muslim-majority Pakistan. It also called for the dismantling of all such systems of discrimination and oppression of the minorities.

In a strongly-worded letter to Pakistan premier Imran Khan, endorsed by 51 members of the Parliament, the body indicted Pakistan's State apparatus of endorsing and supporting extremist elements that perpetrated religious and sectarian violence. It also noted that attacks against the minorities and their places of worship had increased in the recent past.

The letter said that Khan's government, just like the previous ones, was perpetuating systems of oppression and discrimination against minorities which encouraged violence against them by radical and fanatic Islamic groups.
