Priya Rani, a young woman from a small village, successfully passed the UPSC Civil Services exam and realized her dream of becoming an IAS officer.
Priya Rani comes from Kurkuri, a small village in Phulwari Sharif, Bihar. She faced numerous challenges during her childhood education.
Priya's grandfather encouraged her to pursue a better education by sending her to Patna. She completed her studies while living in a rented house in the city.
Priya Rani completed her schooling in her village before pursuing a BTech degree in Electrical Engineering at the Birla Institute of Technology and Science in Mesra, Ranchi.
After her engineering degree, Priya began working at a private company in Bangalore, earning a high salary. However, she soon found herself drawn to a career in Civil Services.
Her family and friends expressed concern on her leaving the job. However, she was determined to crack the UPSC exams.
In her second attempt, Priya earned a position in the Indian Defense Service, but in the 2023 UPSC exam, she realized her dream of becoming an IAS officer by achieving an AIR 69.
Priya credits her success to her discipline and hard work. She would wake up at 4 am to study. She relied on NCERT books and newspapers.
Priya Rani believes that education is the greatest wealth and shares this message with the youth: stay focused on your goals and never give up on hard work.
