Many individuals already serving in government roles also prepare for and succeed in the UPSC exam. One notable example is IPS officer Tanu Shree.
Tanu Shree began her career in 2014 as an Assistant Commandant in the CRPF. She also cleared the Income Tax Department exam but didn't join.
Tanu Shree's father was a DIG in the CRPF. His administrative background inspired her to pursue civil services.
Born on April 24, 1987, Tanu Shree received her early education in Motihari, Bihar. She completed 12th from DAV Bokaro and then graduated in History from Miranda House, Delhi.
Tanu Shree got married in 2015, but despite this, she continued her UPSC preparation while managing her home and career.
With hard work and dedication, Tanu Shree cleared the UPSC Civil Services Examination in 2016 and became an IPS officer in 2017.
Tanu Shree is a 2017 batch IPS officer of the AGMUT cadre. She has served as SSP in Shopian, Jammu & Kashmir, and is currently SP SIA in Kashmir.
Her elder sister, Manu Shri, a Commandant in CRPF, has been a major inspiration in her life. Tanu Shree moved towards her goal inspired by her.
IPS Tanu Shree is also quite active on social media. She has over 1.5 lakh followers on Instagram, where she shares updates related to her personal and professional life.
