What if you work hard and the credit goes to someone else? Organisers of the National Sports Day celebrations in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, left the city red-faced when they mistook Sania Mirza for PT Usha.
The organisers put up a poster congratulating track and field athlete PT Usha by putting up Sania Mirza's picture. The poster put up near the Submarine museum on Beach Road went viral within no time.
So, PT Usha ran for years and just before she touched the finish line, Sania Mirza barged in and was declared the winner. Following this, trolls had a field day on social media.
It was interesting to see that chief minister Jagan Mohan Reddy's picture was also there on the poster, as he had announced cash award to sportspersons who had won medals in the national sports events. This was a part of his scheme of 'YSR Kreeda Protasahakalu'.
It's time the organisers of National Sports Day celebrations in Visakhapatnam run for their lives to avoid becoming a victim of trolls.
