Today, Wuhan is the epicenter of the novel Coronavirus Outbreak. But, two generations ago, this Chinese City was known through the West as a major industrial junction. Many European powers had a consulate & major Western and Japanese firms had factories in Wuhan. A cradle of China’s revolution in 1911, Wuhan was a trading hub for iron, steel, food cans, teas, cotton and silks.
