Aava motorcycle gang attacks Sri Lanka Police; 1 killed in firing in Manipay

Manipay (Sri Lanka): Police opened fired at a suspect from Aava group, who tried to attack police officers at Manipay in Jaffna, Sri Lanka. Police spokesperson SP Ruwan Gunasekara said that an Aava group member was killed while attempting to attack police with swords. He said that five members of the gang escaped after the clash. The Aava Gang is a Sri Lankan motorcycle gang linked to multiple incidents of violence and crimes in the Northern Province. Police have seized three swords and a motorcycle left behind by the suspect.
