Guntur: Income tax sleuths on Tuesday raided Telugu Desam Party (TDP) MP Galla Jayadev's residence and other places connected to him. The TDP leaders staged a protest against the raids, claiming that they are being targeted.

Jayadev alleged that he is being targeted for being an outspoken critic of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Speaking to media, the TDP MP said, “It is happening at three locations where my election team was staying. I am demanding an explanation on why we are being targeted. This country under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi is going down on a fascist path. Because I have spoken against him, initiated a non-confidence motion against him, I am being targeted like this.”

Krishna Saagar Rao, BJP spokesperson said, "Galla Jayadev can't hide behind political conspiracy and vendetta excuse for all the irregularities and non compliance he and his companies are involved in. Enforcement agencies can't raid those who have nothing to hide and have done no mistake. If he has done nothing wrong, then he doesn't need to worry about the raids either. It has become a fad for the TDP to blame PM Modi for everything which happens in their life. They must take responsibility at least for their own actions, which are leading to these raids, instead of blaming others."
