Tamil Nadu man dies after consuming alcohol; wife files complaint against friends

Andipatti (Tamil Nadu): A man in Tamil Nadu, who returned home after consuming alcohol during a village festival, died after complaining of stomach pain.

Pandian (29) along with his friends on Tuesday (May 7) consumed alcohol on the occasion of village festival in Andipatti. Minutes after he reached home, Pandian complained to his wife Latha (28) of severe stomach pain. He was rushed to Andipatti Government Hospital. Due to severe pain in the stomach, the doctors advised Latha to take him to Theni Government Hospital for medical treatment.

Minutes after Pandian reached the hospital, the doctors declared him “brought dead”.

The funeral was held on May 8. After the funeral, Latha felt suspicious and filed a complaint against Pandian’s friends at the Andipatti police station. After receiving the complaint, the police officials exhumed the body and have sent for postmortem.

In a complaint filed by Latha, she alleged that she suspected Pandian's friends of giving her husband toxic alcohol. Police are now awaiting autopsy report.
