Tamil Nadu: Election flying squad seizes over Rs 50 lakh in Vellore during vehicular checks

Vellore: Campaigning for the Vellore Lok Sabha constituency have kicked off in full swing and two companies of Central Industrial Security Forces (CISF) have arrived in Vellore in Tamil Nadu. 

The Election Commission has planned to deploy over 20 companies of the CISF and para-military forces for the constituency.

The poll squad who was conducting a vehicular check-up intercepted a private vehicle and seized Rs 56.14 lakh in cash. The cash was being transported without proper documents. 

The seized cash was handed over to officials in charge of the treasury in the area.

Vellore is set to go to polls on August 5th, after the polling was cancelled in April due to cash seizures.
