Ballari (Karnataka): Former foreign minister Sushma Swaraj shared a special bond with Karnataka’s Ballari. After the veteran BJP leader passed away on Tuesday (August 6) due to cardiac arrest in Delhi, a Ballari couple has recalled the days when Sushma visited the mining city from 1999 onwards.
Physician Dr Srinivas Murthy, and his wife, Shantha Murthy, spoke about their association with Sushma.
Speaking to reporters in Ballari, Dr Murthy said that Sushma used to stay with them in their home as she was allergic to a particular food and had fallen sick a couple of times while she was contesting from Ballari (then Bellary) Lok Sabha seat, against Congress candidate, Sonia Gandhi, in 1999.
