Summer showers in Nilgiris put tourists on hold in Ooty

Ooty: Heavy rains rocked the hills in Ooty and Nilgiris on Saturday with storm water flooding the low-lying roads making the commute for the tourists distressful in Charring Cross and Garden road.

Though the summer showers were very late this year, the hills witnessed relentless rain for the past three days.

The rains were particularly heavy in the town limits here on Saturday. This, of course, played havoc with sightseeing trips of summer tourists, who had gathered in Ooty for the long weekend.
