Colombo: Sri Lanka is observing April 23 as a national day of mourning, a decision taken during a meeting of the National Security Council chaired by Sri Lanka President Sirisena.
A series of bomb blasts on Easter Sunday rocked Sri Lanka by killing 310 people leaving more than 500 people injured, reveals a report from the police spokesperson.
On Monday, the local police found 87 bomb detonators at Colombo’s main bus station, and one more blast took place in a van as authorities were defusing a bomb. No injuries were reported from the explosion.
Meanwhile, the country has been placed under a state of emergency as the officials aim to maintain security with required assistance during investigations into the bombings.
