Warangal: An alleged stalker set a college student on fire in broad daylight in Telangana’s Warangal for rejecting his love proposal. The woman has suffered 80% burn injuries and is currently undergoing treatment at Warangal Government Hospital.
The BSc student was on her way to college when the stalker, identified as Avinash (also the victim’s classmate), poured petrol on her and set her ablaze. Hospital authorities have said that the victim’s chances of survival are low.
The attacker later fled the spot, police said. Police suspect the man set the woman on fire for rejecting his love.
Warangal Police have now arrested the accused, who has confessed to the crime.
This is the second such incident in Telangana this month. Earlier this month, a girl was critically injured after her alleged stalker stabbed her repeatedly in broad daylight in Hyderabad.
