Ernakulam: Several people including women and children participated in a protest march against the upcoming LPG import terminal at Puthuvype, Ernakulam, in Kerala.
The natives of Puthuvype had been opposing the terminal project since 2009 and due to this the Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) had not been able to complete even the construction of the compound wall.
More than 1,000 families residing within one-kilometre radius of the IOC project have been protesting for the past several years against the upcoming LPG import terminal.
Meanwhile, there are apprehensions that the project would prove to be an environmental hazard and fear of possible blast at the IOC site in future.
