Pollachi: Six people, including two children of a family were killed after the sedan they were travelling in plunged into a canal in Pollachi, Tamil Nadu, in the wee hours of Wednesday.
The accident took place at Gedimedu at 1.30 am when they were returning home after visiting a temple in Palani.
The police said that all the deceased were related to each other, and belonged to Masakalipalayam in Coimbatore.
Police said that the driver identified as 45-year-old Prakash lost control of the vehicle before plunging into the canal.
The vehicle was pulled out by the Fire and Rescue Services personnel at about 6.30 am.
The Gomangalam police shifted the bodies of the deceased to the Government Hospital, Pollachi
