Bengaluru: The BJP has written to the Election Commission stating that a Facebook page has been propagating false information and defamatory, obscene posts on Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The post shows Modi's image on women's underwear and the BJP has stated that this is an insult to the prime minister. The Facebook page belongs to a person named Shekhar Naik.
The BJP has also stated that the page functions in order to make obscene and false rumours just to woo voters against the BJP. The party has also, in its letter, stated that such posts incite hatred, disharmony and ill-well which aggravates political fights. The letter also said this is nothing but cyber crime.
The first phase of the Lok Sabha elections took place on April 11 in 91 constituencies spread across 18 states and union territories.
