New Delhi: President of India Ram Nath Kovind and Vice President of India M Venkaiah Naidu paid floral tribute to the second Prime Minister of India Lal Bahadur Shastri at Vijay Ghat. Freedom fighter Shastri was a follower of Gandhi and shares his birth anniversary with the father of the nation. Interim president of Congress Sonia Gandhi and former Prime Minister of India Manmohan Singh also paid tribute to Lal Bahadur Shastri at Vijay Ghat in Delhi. Lok Sabha speaker Om Birla and former vice president Hamid Ansari were also present. Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) veteran leader Lal Krishna Advani also paid homage to Shastri. Today also marks the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi.
