Kayamkulam: In a shocking incident of medical apathy in Kerala, a pregnant woman was prescribed abortion tablets by the doctor of JJ Hospital, Kayamkulam, Kerala. A case has been filed against the gynaecologist of JJ Hospital following the woman's complaint.
Fathima, who is pregnant, had visited the hospital for a routine check-up and the doctor prescribed some tablets. After consuming one of the tablets, she reached home and began suffering from severe stomach pain. Later, she went to the medical store to get the other medicines that the doctor had prescribed. When the medical store staff explained the details of the pills, the couple realised that the doctor had prescribed abortion pills.
The couple reportedly confronted the doctor, who apparently confessed on camera that he had wrongly prescribed abortion pills.
The complaint filed by the couple at the police station included mobile visuals where the gynaecologist can be seen admitting his mistake.
