Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala’s first five-star restaurant, Thattukada (wayside eatery) is set for its launch in Thiruvananthapuram as part of the Clean Street Food Hub project. The project was initiated by the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India. An official of the food safety department will be appointed to keep an eye on the cleanliness of these five-star Thattukadas. The Central Government will incur the expense of installing the necessary infrastructure for these Thattukadas and will bear the salary cost of the appointed official.
According to sources, four more locations in the state will house the five-star restaurant. A preliminary inspection of the projects has been completed in Alappuzha, Kottayam, Fort Kochi and Kozhikode.
