Karnataka: Villagers near Raichur forced to get into canal to fetch water

Raichur: People of a village in Raichur, Karnataka, were seen carrying pots of water from the right bank of Narayanapura Canal. These people were forced to get into dangerous levels of the canal in order to fetch water. Thanks to a drought-like situation in the region, as many as 30 households have been pushed to the brink of disaster, as going down to such levels to fetch water endangers their lives.

Officials were seen rushing to the aid of the people and also seek information about the predicament they are facing.
