Karnataka: Slipper garland over Nandi idol; devotees demand immediate arrest of miscreants

Vijayapura: A Nandi idol at Golasangi in Nidagundi taluk (sub-division), Karnataka, was garlanded with slippers. The incident came to light after the morning prayers on Saturday. The temple was empty after the morning prayers. Miscreants used this time to enter the temple and garland the Nandi idol with slippers, said village residents. Basavaraj, sub-inspector of the Kudagi NTPC police station visited the temple and inspected the place. Hurt devotees have demanded a dog squad inspection and arrest of the miscreants at the earliest.
