Bengaluru: The Congress-JD(S) coalition government in Karnataka is under threat as 14 MLAs visited the Assembly Speaker's office in Bengaluru on Saturday (July 6), and tendered their resignations to the assistant. They are now headed to meet the Governor.
Both the Congress and the JD(S) MLAs are ready to quit. Ramalinga Reddy, Pratap Gowda Patil, BC Patil, Ramesh Jarkiholi, Shivaram Hebbar, Mahesh Kumtahalli, Gopalaiah, H Vishwanath, Narayan Gowda and ST Somashekhar visited the Speaker's office and submitted their resignation letters to the Speaker's assistant. It is said that the Speaker Ramesh Kumar is not in his office and will not return till Monday (July 8). Hearing the news, Karnataka in-charge of Congress party, KC Venugopal has rushed to Bengaluru and is holding talks. The MLAs, meanwhile, are all set to meet the Governor at the Raj Bhavan in Bengaluru.
